Key light: The subjects are entirely backlit by a very large, soft, warm light source positioned directly behind them, functioning as the primary illumination for the background and creating strong silhouettes.
Fill: Very low fill from the front, allowing the subjects to remain in deep silhouette. Any apparent fill is likely ambient bounce from the floor or very subtle diffusion.
Rim: Subtle, soft rim light is visible around the edges of the silhouetted figures, particularly on their heads and shoulders, providing a delicate separation from the bright background.
Practicals: none visible
Time of day: stylized sunrise/sunset effect

Composition

Rule of thirds: The two main figures are positioned near the vertical third lines, creating balance and emphasizing their opposition, while the bright central light anchors the frame.
Leading lines: The horizontal lines of the steps behind the subjects, and the strong horizontal division between the dark foreground and bright background, draw the eye across the frame to the central action.
Symmetry: There is a strong sense of horizontal symmetry, with two opposing figures at the center and balanced groups of onlookers on either side, all framed by the architectural elements.
Negative space: Extensive negative space, particularly the large, brightly lit background, isolates the silhouetted figures and highlights their dramatic forms, focusing attention on the core conflict.
Subject placement: Two primary subjects are positioned centrally and in opposition, framed by surrounding groups of figures, creating a clear focal point amidst a broader tableau.

Recreation preview

To recreate this, use a medium-telephoto lens like an 85mm or 100mm on a static camera at chest height. Place a very large, powerful, soft warm light source directly behind your subjects, ensuring it fills most of the background. Keep any foreground or fill light to an absolute minimum to maintain deep silhouettes, and grade for strong contrast with vivid warm tones in the background.
