Composition

Rule of thirds: The subject's face is positioned near the upper-left intersection of the rule of thirds grid, with her body creating a strong diagonal leading towards the bottom-left.

Symmetry: The composition is highly asymmetrical, with the subject placed off-center and the light creating a dramatic imbalance between light and shadow.

Recreation preview

To recreate this shot, use a 50mm lens and position the camera at chest height, slightly to the right of your seated subject. Introduce a hard, warm key light from a high angle, front-right, aimed to rake across the subject's face and body. Ensure there is minimal or no fill light to maintain deep shadows and high contrast.
